About

Our Purpose

The purpose of this association shall be to further the tenets of the Bahá’í Faith, to invite those interested to investigate the Faith for themselves; to promote the unity of mankind; and to foster understanding, love and fellowship on this campus by sponsoring such things as lectures, information tables, service projects, discussions, informal gatherings, social activities and public meetings. This Association shall not endorse any partisan or political group on a campus level or otherwise.

Meetings

The Bahá’í Association meets every Sunday at 5:00 PM in the Student Learning Center, room 207.

Our meeting schedule generally holds to the following pattern, but is subject to change:

  • Topic discussions, held on the first and third Sunday of each month. We will read and reflect on selected writings on a certain subject (for example, the harmony of science and religion or the equality of men and women). Any general questions about the Bahá’í Faith will also be welcome at these meetings.
  • Devotions and social activities, held on the second Sunday of each month. The devotions consist of readings, prayer, and music, and last about 25-35 minutes. After devotions, we will leave for a fun activity such as bowling or eating out.
  • Planning meetings are held on the last Sunday of each month.
  • Throughout the semester, we’ll try to hold one or two other special events.

Everyone is welcome at all meetings and events held by the Bahá’í Association, regardless of race, color, age, gender, class, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or religion. The meetings are independent of each other, so do not feel like you’ve “missed too much” to join in late in the semester. There’s always more to learn and discuss!
